current mood: angry

Once again I got yelled out by him just for asking a question. They got a new toaster oven and all I said was "do you know that it was on?" and yelling at me for this dad said "YES I KNOW IT IS!!! I AM READING THE INSTRUCTIONS ON IT". There was no need for him to blow up at me like this for a simple question...so until he says he is sorry about this I am not talking to him at all...2 days and counting and still nada.

I feel for you. My dad and I practically never have a conversation that doesn't end up in me being insulted for something I have no clue about and then getting pissed that I didn't do/say anything wrong if it was to any other person. Most of my family just roll their eyes the moment my dad says anything to me or if I ask an innocent question because they know he'll just blow at the smallest thing I say or do. In fact, I don't even have to be speaking "to" him, even if I'm talking to someone else about something that doesn't even involve him, he'll find a way into it just to smack me down with an insult about my "negative attitude" being "overly dramatic" and/or "being stupid". I've lived with it all my life, so now it's just... the way things are and I try not to be in the same room with him if I can avoid it. *shrugs*

Hot Shep

Well it is mostly the way he was brought up. His dad was like this to his wife and other woman family members (they did not seem to care). But it seems the older he gets the worse his attitude toward me gets. He is not this way all of the time either. Still no "I'm sorry" from him yet either *sigh*, I think the drink made him forget all about it. You would think he would wonder why I am not talking to him still...but nooooooooo.
